Side note here, He will each new thread have a new mask.. Leaf, Paper bag, Pumpkin, Watermelon.
[break][break]
Born into a Lowerclass American Family he'd grown to always believe he will no matter what, will always be poor and all the work will crash down on top of him as pointless endlessly endeavors. As such THIS IS the STORY of SIGMUS CITADEL, a Normal American Boy turned Researcher Kidnapped by A World Beyond.
[break][break]
You'd think Childhood would be a simple easy thing for one to describe after all it's your years of Freedom exploring the outdoors enjoying Summer Breaks and World Moments of bonding. For our Young Sigmus, it was indeed just like that Moment of Bonding clinging to this Earth finding reasons to keep going outside and just Explore the World as much as he wished. His parents were rather Gawd awfully poor to the point he'd stop bringing up Christmas gifts or Asking about the newest Science kit that was released on the shelves of supermarkets or Over the web. He did, however, learn, Being Gawd Awful poor didn't mean you were without ways of Making your OWN methods of experimentation and little useful gadgets.
[break][break]
Many kids believed he was highly innovative, and the ONE to fear in their little games.. As he made Whips out of Telephone chords and random metal broken poles, little tiny gear mechanisms made with his makeshift rankshack knifelittle tiny gears that turned awfully but still turned, or that one time he made a spear with a super sharp stick and some random feathers laying about. At first, the kids thought he was a bit of a freak wondering why he never had a Gameboy, Digimon Cards, a cellphone, or even a basic marble set. But hey, he'd just show them a new cool little toy made out of random scraps of metal, and Bam they invite him over to play video games.
[break][break]
At some point, his closest best friend during his childhood was a smart higher upperclassman he'd met on the playground that was intrigued by his obsession with bugs, human bodies, and systems of Law. This upperclassman taught him how to use computers, even inviting him to learn about Video games and codings. Thanks to this upperclassman friend his interest to achieve something greater grew to get better grades and.. Believe it or not, try to be as great as this classmate.
[break][break]
Time Flew in High school, his piqued interest was in Codings, inventions, and just meeting that imaginary goal he created thanks to his Best Friend he was constantly doing something in high school. First, it was the Dictionary Club, then it was Chess, followed up with Computer Coding, Soon exploring interests of Gardening club, and his curiosity made him spread oh so thin.. but hey he kept it together thanks to his Poor Family's lifestyle, and parents easily lovingly letting him he do as he pleased. But Hey.. When you're at a High Point of Achievement Ace in Your Class, Growing into Summer Internships things grow murky blinding. His Mother grew sick, he wasn't at first aware of it lost in his things... And his Mother Hiding OH. So. Well. She didn't want her boy to give up his work, didn't want him to stay such lower-class, she wanted His Upperclassman friend to give him a Choice of Greater leadership. Just Too BAD Life isn't Simple, nor is keeping things hidden.
[break][break]
It was thanked to this hidden information, that made Mother's odd actions of Sleeping on the couch.. Blowing him off more and more... Too tired to admit she was pushing herself to the limit due to work, too secretive to admit her body was near giving out lungs struggling to breathe, and most important resisting the urge to worry him by showing an ounce of weakness. Till One day, He was forced to call an Ambulance (thanks to his Father working) out in panic knowing the cost will place the family more in the 'hole' as they called it. It was during after that Ambulance's journey, he learned his Mother was constantly having minor heart attacks again and again. His Father knew about it but was too busy working to even have time to talk to him about it, Actually.. Truth be Told his Father wanted to tell him, but the Mother said no. Please don't... Don't ruin his future, don't make him worry, he'll quit his clubs go to work... Just to help out a little.
[break][break]
Thus Life played out his Mother pushed herself too hard, thanks to the ambulance call their family went into incredible debt, thanks to their family's pride they asked nobody for help... Most importantly thanks to his Mother keeping it hidden refusing to slow down her work, refusing to pay for pills or go to Doctor, the side effects of Prolonging Major Heart attack had Left her Near vegetable levels.. A portion of her brain struggling to function correctly, memories randomly going missing, Portion of her body just incapable of moving correctly almost as if the brain couldn't properly communicate, and last final thing his Father having to quit his second job to help monitor and care for his Mother.
[break][break]
It was during these dark times their family lost the house they worked so hard to buy, a reason for all those jobs to keep such important objects.. Funny, right? His Mother's Car paid off, luckily by then, though a piece of crap.. Was passed down to him during his Last final High school years, but.. he just didn't have the heart to use it, preferring to walk to home and school... Just something.. His heart of course' sank, after all, some part in his Teenager mind truly believed it was his fault she pushed herself so hard, his mind calculating those little membership costs, the lunches, and other things.. This was all lies because, in reality, he'd went out of his way to earn those costs... But Reality and What the mind wishes to believe is near laughable.
[break][break]
Either way the Traumatizing moment was such an inflicting moment, he'd turned to his Father and Upperclassman friend... All said, Move Forward. Don't get so hung up on this. NOT YOUR FAULT. HA! So, there he went kept his clubs working harder than before. Maybe, just Maybe... He could Prevent this, Create a Better world? Where Parents don't have to work so many jobs? Have to Hide their Health from their kids... JUST... Just a world.. Where kids.. could. help them? at all. The funniest thing about All this... thanks to his Mother's incapability to work.. Suddenly Government desires to help his family giving them money, suddenly went out of its way to keep Medical pill-surgery expenses free, just Funny. Right?
[break][break]
End of Highschool came, on the suggestion of Counselors and his friend he applied to lots of colleges accepting only free dorm costs.. Lucky for him the Application process was rather easy what with those Greedy Universities with their Grabby hands grabbing at him. He was after all an interesting Specimen, high achievement ratios. As such Transition from highschool went awfully smoothly, suspicion was thanks to his Mom's disability and his Upperclassman friend's connections.. Hey Who cared right, here he Was In front fo Labs working toward a better future. One That COULD change the world.
[break]
[break]
Quickly He worked to sneak his way into various University Research Groups, shadowing befriending various students not hinting or giving out his placement in other Research Labs on the university. When asked his Major he'd always state undecided or just avoid the question by switching the conversation over. He had by that point decided None of it mattered, So ALL of it mattered Humanity's Future mattered.
[break][break]
He kept in touch with his friend, the only connection to his old life, fear... of.. checking up on his Father... A reminder of how depression had created his Father into a drunk. This friend explained about a new game, how he should be interested. Asking they should play together, even managing to snag a placement into the Beta Team. His curiosity taking over, he snuck in the beta disk into one of the Research lab computers logging on. It was about 2 am in the lab, The Screen flickered oddly basic for even beta form... Text slipping across the screen.
[break][break]
>>> When the going gets tough, do you get going?[break][break]
HUh? The answer was simple.. But the question was such an odd one.. He looked from the screen onto his phone expecting his friend to text him with his status... No text.. Okay.. Uhh.. His heart pounded slowly typing in a lie curious how the game would react, curious if it'd give him some sort of special outcome.
[break][break]
-----> "no"
[break][break]
>>> There is a scream from behind a door! How will you react?
[break][break]
Was this some sort of textbase game? His attention flicked back to the lab assigned phone picking it up texting 'hey what kind of game was this again?' before placing the phone down staring at the computer, thinking long and hard. What would he do? Hearing a scream, a slow smirk crossing his face.. thought ringing of what he'd actually do grab a notepad record every little detail of what caused that scream, why there was Learning afoot. He clicked the mouse selecting the only choice that fit him personally.
[break][break]
-----> "investigate it"
[break][break]
>>>> Are there many things that you would like to do?
[break][break]
His smirk faded, that wasn't... An answer he'd expected, a question not at all referencing his other? How odd of a game, then perhaps it was still too close in beta? More lines of text not yet written out. He gave a slight sigh, getting up out of his chair to check on his little sample getting moved back and forth by a swinging electric machine. Turning it off, then throwing the petri dish into the incubator, before going back at the question. Just, what... was with this question? The answer was clearly yes.
[break][break]
-----> "yes"
[break][break]
>>>>> SIGMUS CITADEL
[break][break]
Wait. What?! His mind flickered trying to think he'd given it his name, No, he didn't. JUST What sort of BETA Game was this? Slowly More text faded in by the time he was debating on closing the Game.. thinking maybe something on the computer was interfering.. Like a prank by one of his Co-researchers, after all... Games weren't allowed on the Research computer.
[break][break]
>>>>> You are about to embark on a journey unlike any other. Enjoy yourself and make friends, but be wary of your surroundings. There is a darkness in the world that threatens the very existence of your world and mine. Your actions have consequences, but don't think twice. Take the leap, and we will follow.
[break][break]
EMBARK? THE... Hell.. He just stared blankly at the words reading them over and over, such an odd statement. Suddenly the Computer Flickered off with the sound of an old television getting turned off. How?! WHAT?! He panicked worrying about breaking the University's computer, how they were probably going to kick him out of the Lab Hell.. university. How all the work he'd placed himself into would be just shoved in his face like with his Mom.
[break][break]
SUDDENLY the Blank black screen, Flickered on after he checked all the plugs, Oh! THANK GOODNESS!! IT still worked.. just.. needed to check files, data information, just.. anything, Oh how stupid he wa-as.. Wait.. no key command worked.. It just grew brighter and brighter till his eyes squeezed and he felt some new force pulling from the computer. WHAT IN THE?! How Curious!! What type of Force was this?! The movement was such a powerful force!! EXHILARATING!
Side note here, He will each new thread have a new mask.. Leaf, Paper bag, Pumpkin, Watermelon.
