Yesterday

Aki was always a serious child. Serious, intelligent and quiet, spending time earnestly working on creative games such as lego, drawing and writing. That, and running about in parks and woods with his younger brother. His family was always close, as were the friends he made in school. Few, never being much of the centre of attention, except when it came to attracting some of the wrong attention. Fortunately, the words of the meaner kids only cut shallow, even if they were part of the reason he developed a bit of a hot temper. [break][break]

They were hardly an obstacle once he entered secondary school though, where he soon found others who better appreciated his nerdier interests and sometimes even his annoyingly competitive, cocky side. A side usually seen in video games, and of course his successful academics. He was even proficient in various athletic sports, though the hand-eye coordination required for ball games left him significantly weaker in that field. Aki's natural talent for studies meant that he didn't actually have to study all that much at all, and this lack of drive meant that he lacked a direction when it came time to choose one. A lack of direction that proved very detrimental in college, where he quickly came to hate his mathematics course and tanked his grades significantly. While he could have picked himself up, his ease of success earlier in life made it difficult to actually put effort into doing well, and he slipped into games to take up most of his spare time. With failing grades, he fell into a low-pay, low-conditions job. It was only the loss of one of the cats he'd grown up with that made him realise what sort of passion he had, one outside of the curriculum he'd been through. He wanted to pursue the study of animals, but boarding that ship would prove difficult with his final grades. [break][break]

It was during that time of wishing he'd done things differently, struggling to find the footholds he once had, that Aki was given the disc for a mysterious new game.[break][break]

Today

Aki awoke in a strange world and a strange body, both alike and apart from the many other players. A small, inhuman and unusually plant-like body, belonging to a species named Petilil. An all-female species, as if being a living shrub wasn't awkward enough already. An extremely confusing situation, made even moreso when she encountered more of these Pokemon creatures. Peculiar beings exhibiting mysterious powers, and thankfully intelligence and speech too. A civilisation, formed of seemingly hundreds of different kinds of creatures. Aki was stunned to say the least, but more than that she was thankful. Thankful that she'd found some sanity, and even been offered refuge by the Guild. At the very least, she wanted to try to earn her keep and put her talents to use in this unusual second chance she'd gotten. [break][break]

Appearance

Aki's body is a healthy example of a Petilil, with all three leaves intact atop her head and a vibrant leafy collar around her neck. She is coloured quite typically, with a lime colour to her body and a darker green for her leaves, alongside a white face with red eyes. She is 1'7" and weighs 14.2 lbs, with a clear yet very high-pitched voice.
