[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"]title [attr="class","info-post"]Being in cemeteries was calming, at least it was to Vertigo. It was something about the silence and the hush-hush of it that appealed to her soul. Also the mausoleum that was in there, practically begging for people to break into it and find it's secrets. Vertigo sniffed at the grass in front of a particularly new grave, tilting her head in consideration as she pulled back up and huffed at the name engraved into the stone. A great yawn split her face, bringing her boredom to the surface as she looked around the seemingly empty grounds.
It was a fairly large cemetery, small graves decorating its expanse to make room for all the dead bodies and then some. The great mausoleum in the middle always caught her eyes, making her increasingly more curious about what lay inside. Perhaps if she used her guild badge to get inside..? She didn't want to risk getting on the guild's bad side so soon, even though she was in the works of a plan that would get her out of the guild and into the wilds on her own. It'd take a long time before it was implemented though, so she only worked on it when she could.
Vertigo blinked large green eyes up at the velvety dark sky, taking in the small pinpricks of light that she knew to be stars and not the mythos of this.. world. She scoffed slightly, knowing that Arceus was not real and nor were the other 'legendaries.' She didn't care that the civilians and all of the in-verse Pokemon were so adamant about them being real. They weren't. It just didn't make sense. She'd make them see sense some day.

A meeting in the cemetery was not exactly ideal, but it was what the client requested, so he supposed he had to oblige in order to collect. The icy fox usually made it a habit to go a tad earlier just in case there was something amiss, for the mafia had many enemies that wouldn't mind killing him, even if he was not the actual Don. To be fair, many did not even know what the Don looked like, and the fact that he could easily disguise himself made him perfect for the role. He let out a low, quiet hum, being quite familiar with these grounds, but never actually having traversed the mausoleum that laid in the center. As tempting as it was, he had heard of many a petty thief trying their luck, only for the guild to foul their plans almost immediately. He assumed that there were alarms there, and he didn't know how to disarm them, or where they even were. Perhaps if he had a move that could identify such things...
Anyway, there was something calming about a breezy evening in a graveyard. He wondered if he would be able to secure a spot here when he passed, but being in the mafia usually meant an untimely death and one's corpse rotting away Mew knows where. Hmm...such was the luxury of living a normal life, he supposed. Not that he regretted joining the underworld, really, but his life certainly could've been plenty different had he decided not to leave that fateful day.
...hm, he wasn't alone, but that wasn't the heavy steps of a Krokorok. His ears twitched a little as he scanned the area, eventually finding a small silhouette amidst the graves. He recognized that shape all too well -- Eevees, after all, were fairly common in upper class society, and he had played with a few when his family had parties. What was this little one doing in the cemetery, though? And oh..? The shades noted a guild badge. He had been running into quite a few members nowadays, hadn't he? Hrm, were they sent to try capturing his client? That would simply not do.
He approached the normal type calmly, but he was already easing his control over his Snow Warning ability, creating a bit of a chillier wind. "It looks like we have a wayward Pokemon over here...shouldn't you be heading on home, little one?" his tone may be gentle, but there was an air of warning, almost.

The soft pad-pad of feet somewhere around her caused her ears to twitch as she continued to sniff curiously at the stone and ground. Feigning any sort of curiosity and ignorance, Vertigo eyeballed the name etched onto the grave marker and let out a haughty little huff. She flicked her tail upwards, tip twitching as she turned to the next grave and continued her self-inspection of the graveyard. For a moment, she paused, turning her eyes to the sky and was privately glad that her thick coat as an Eevee somewhat protected her as a chillier gust of wind flicked through the treetops.
As another voice spoke, Vertigo shifted and didn't bother looking their way. "Little one?" she queried irritably despite the other's deceptively soft tone, tilting her head and scoffing slightly. "I'm so far from that it's not funny. Not anymore." Bright green eyes flicked sharply over the calm landscape, soothing the irritation that began to simmer in her stomach. "Seems like both of us shouldn't be here.. isn't that right?" she murmured, now turning to the other pokemon in the cemetery, a cruel sort of humor glinting in her eyes and her head tilted slightly in a mocking sort of way.
She looked at the Ninetales in contemplative silence, expression neutral aside from the dark mischief that brewed in her eyes. A small Eevee facing a fully evolved Pokemon, this image was probably absolutely hilariious to some. Then it diminished slightly as she turned away once more and sniffed curiously at a lighter colored headstone. Her muzzle twisted bitterly. "What is home, even more?" she mumbled questioningly, an odd note in her voice as she thought about her brothers back on Earth. Vertigo scoffed, fully turning around to face the Ninetales. "I'm not leaving. It's quiet for once and the guild hall is fairly loud."
She didn't mention that the companionship in the hall clearly seen only made her chest ache even more and silently miss the friendship of brothers and friends from back on Earth. Vertigo hated this situation, and so far she didn't see a way out of it. "What are you doing here?" she queried sharply in a low voice, eyeballing the mausoleum suspiciously.

[attr="class","graves"] [attr="class","image"] [attr="class","lyrics"]Never be ashamed, my love, all hearts are open graves [attr="class","postcontent"] Samuel sneered a little at the retort, but he supposed that it was justified. He had forgotten that there were some Eevee that chose not to evolve, or there were those that simply hadn't stumbled upon the right circumstances to do so. For all he knew, this little one could've been older than he, but that didn't matter all that much. What did was that if the Eevee turned out to be a threat, he should be able to subdue them easily.
"I suppose that depends on the reason. I am meant to be here. You, however..." he would let out a low hum, "You do not sound like someone that is on patrol." the icy fox would watch them quietly, noting how the Pokemon seemed rather forlorn in his choice of words. He could empathize, actually, with the lack of a home. It was not until a few years ago that he was able to procure his own, and even then he sometimes felt he was a stranger to its walls. But eventually his question was answered -- she just wanted to get away from the riffraff of the guild. Understandable, he thought, recalling how sometimes the mafia's hideout was too chaotic for his comfort.
He would move his tail a little, deciding that this Eevee did not appear to be a threat for now. He would call back his ability, and the cool wind would settle. The natural breeze of the evening would remain. "Someone else is meant to come." he would say softly after careful thought. "If they do, I would ask for you to leave, though...I suppose I shouldn't frame that as a request." there would be a glint in his eye, wondering how the other would react. He mused on how easy it would be to kidnap the Eevee and take them in as a lap fox. Oh, how he loved the soft fur of an Eevee...

Vertigo simply rolled her eyes, scoffing at the implication that the Ninetales was supposed to be there. "I'm not on patrol. Merely trying to figure out if my guild badge would let me into the mausoleum," she snapped back, aiming a sharp glare up at the much bigger Pokemon. She shifted slightly, not noticing as the chill in the air settle back to its natural state. At the next soft words of the Ninetales, she squinted up at him, wondering if he was perhaps joking or not.
A small 'pfft' escaped her, morphing into a slightly louder snicker. "I'm a little difficult to remove, Ninetales," she snarked, sweeping her tail around her paws and looking at the large fox pokemon with an 'Are you stupid?' expression. "You can't make me leave. I came here for a reason, and as I view the cemetery my sanctuary, maybe we can wait for your someone together?" She rolled her eyes again.
"If you're doing something illegal, I can keep secrets." she snorted, wondering if this Ninetails was having an illicit rendezvous with somebody else. "It's not like I particularly care."

[attr="class","graves"] [attr="class","image"] [attr="class","lyrics"]Never be ashamed, my love, all hearts are open graves [attr="class","postcontent"] Samuel would let out a little thoughtful noise, wondering if the guild badge was enough to override the mausoleum's security system. There was fabled treasure down there, sure, but his boss hadn't ordered any sort of raid on it right now, so it seemed trivial or perhaps even untrue. Whatever the case, it was not the mafia's concern at the moment, and so the Alolan Ninetales had little information on the subject. It did not seem like the guild members knew much of it either. All the ice type really knew was of the Pokemon that got caught. It had been a while since someone foolish tried to enter once more. "I would be curious to see you try." he said with a small grin, "But I'd rather not be here when that happens. Guild members left and right on a beautiful evening like this does not sound pleasant." Samuel would watch the Eevee for her reaction, finding it amusing that she seemed to be the rebellious sort. What was she doing with the guild, then? Using it at a stepping stone, perhaps? That would be something that the Ninetales would do, no doubt. He would let out a small chuckle; small billows of mist coming from his maw. "Tell me, why do you stay in the guild if you do not care for such things?" he was inclined to just pick up the little Eevee and toss her over the fence, but that was not practical. Oh, tossing her into the mausoleum was another option, but he did not have a quick getaway at the moment... "It might be fun just trying to escape, being tossed in jail, then trying to escape from jail," said little Eevee mused aloud in a considering tone. It would get her out of the damned place, that's for sure. Actually.. her eyes glinted mischieviously as a thought crossed her mind. Maybe she could get him to follow her..? Nah, that probably wouldn't work. This Ninetales seemed pretty shrewd, and would probably pick apart her plan in seconds. "I'm not sure how fast the Guild would come, honestly." Vertigo murmured thoughtfully, shrugging and squinting up at the Pokemon that was maybe two feet taller than her.
The Eevee eyed the Ninetales contemplatively, wondering if he was worth even talking to. Well.. it couldn't help talking to him. He was probably the first shady character that she had ever met. "They were the first to see me after I woke up on the ground," she scoffed loudly. "One minute, I was plugging a game into my console and the next I'm looking into the creepy face of a Chimecho and they're telling me I fell from the sky." Her tail quivered as anger suddenly filled her face. "I have nowhere else to go and I can't really escape it if I could. They're self-righteous idiots who think that they can better the world." she inhaled deeply, ears quivering as they flattened and her tail lashed. She was suddenly on her feet, bitter words spilling from her mouth. "The world doesn't even work like that! Bettering the world." Vertigo scoffed again.
"I need a good reason to leave the guild and I don't even have one," she snarled, fur bristling and looking positively furious. Green eyes flashed up towards the sky, then towards the Ninetales, positively boiling with anger as she violently whipped her tail around.
