@ares & Rudolf-kicks down the door- I have arrived. It should be obvious why I'm here. I have a dog. You have a dog. Let's throw 'em in a thread together and see what happens. Honestly, I can see Ruud and Ares going in two different directions. Ruud typically views any stranger as potential prey, which probably means he and Ares will immediately butt heads. If things escalate into a fight (which Ares would likely win despite type disadvantage, simply because Ruud has nothing allocated to his Special Defense lol), then that would probably lead to both of them ending up battered and bruised. Which either means they walk away with some form of respect for each other, or they're at each others throats the next time they meet. However, Ruud is also the type of person to immediately go "hey you're cool let's hang" and follow Ares around despite his best efforts to shake him. At least his sad puppy-dog eyes won't work on another dog. Let him believe it actually works in general.Rudolf can also serve as a gateway to the mafia if Ares ever runs into trouble or just wants an easier way to cause trouble and have someone backing him every step of the way.
I also have Lavender Delacroix but that's the guild master. So unless you really want to test that patience thing against the master--

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"] Rudolf[attr="class","info-post"]Yeah, to be completely honest I'm not entirely sure how things would go. Rudolf seems like a bit of a wildcard, and Ares can rarely have a good day where he might not want to immediately bite off someone's head for trying to pick a fight with him. I think the best course of action would simply be to throw them both in a thread and see what happens. As for Lavender Delacroix, Ares can be pretty reckless but I don't think he'll target the guild master, at least not quite yet lol

@ares & RudolfIn that case! Would you like to throw a thread down somewhere? Or shall I? I'll likely be heading to bed early tonight, but I can make something after work tomorrow if you want me to.When he thinks he's ready to take on the guild master, Lavender is almost always holed up in his extremely flammable office. ;D

SAMUEL && @ares
hehehe
I have a headcanon that Samuel certainly does not get along with fire types, but while I won't call them enemies since they run in the same circles, it would be super interesting to see him having to ask Ares for perhaps a contract. Or perhaps they would already know each other since Ares might've done some things for the mafia previously.
on the other hand, it would be amusing if samuel becomes a very very brief past lover, or some kind of fling, maybe when he was younger and had a bit of a dip in his life.
so yeah, hope these sound okay, but I would love to hear what ideas you have as well! i just really like the whole fire and ice thing...lol

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-post"] I'm sure Ares will enjoy the fact that he gets under Sam's skin a bit, especially if they did have history, so I'm down for that. Still, they are technically on the same side (even though it's hardly a loyal affair), so be it via the mafia or a more personal contract, I'm sure we can have these two interact without much difficulty. Whether their interaction would be pleasant is a whole other matter entirely, but I'd be happy to have Ares be just a little more fuel to that fire-type dislike of his.

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"] Summer [attr="class","info-post"]I'm sure Ares is just a tad frustrating for a Houndoom like Summer, if not solely being a reminder of her past, then maybe just being a horrible stereotype to make others of their species look bad. She, most certainly, will annoy him a bit, being such a timid 'little' goody-two-shoes. I don't see him actively looking to harass her, but I'm sure if they crossed paths he'd be happy to give her his opinion on her supposed spinelessness.
At the very least, she wouldn't have to worry about mistaken identity since, by the sounds of it, their appearances differ quite a bit too (not even counting the obvious scar, of course).

Oh absolutely, there's going to be some friction between them, and while Summer isn't combative by nature, I could see his aggressive personality triggering juuuust enough of a flashback to her brother back home that she gets riled up enough to actually stand her ground.
I did stalk read up on his profile a bit, and one thing I think might be very interesting to explore with them is his apparent philosophy of "if the world sees me as a monster, I might as well be one", because that's almost the polar opposite of Summer's mindset. So if he mentions something along the line, she might argue back that she was just allowed to join the guild and the leader seemed fine with her. Even if neither of them are really philosophical types I think there's a lot of potential between them, being similar and yet so different.

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"] Summer [attr="class","info-post"]Honestly, if Ares could choose how people reacted to him, he'd much rather it be out of anger than fear. Fear is boring and predictable, but getting under people's skin can be much more entertaining as far as he was concerned, so he'd likely find her standing her ground to be rather amusing, especially if it's not something she normally does.
And, yeah, I figured their differences of opinion on that matter would be a big deal. He might initially question how she managed to get all chummy with others (when he never could), but then he'd likely chalk it all up to the fact that she has to essentially be afraid of being a Houndoom and act all meek and harmless just to accomplish what he deems fake respect from the guild and other pokemon. And that is something he absolutely refuses to do lol
If it did ever come up, I don't know if they would ever really see eye to eye on the subject, but I'm sure they can at least make each other question things a bit, which could be interesting.

SAMUEL && @ares
Ah! Sudden thought -- part of Samuel's history is that someone in the mafia reached out to him asking if he wanted a way out from the...unpleasant business he had himself wrapped up in. Would be interesting if the one they sent was Ares, hm? After all, all the Houndoom would have to do is trash and burn the place to smithereens (and dispose of anyone who was a part of the business). That could be one way to go about their history, and it would add some more complexity because he would have to be (begrudgingly) grateful to him, or at least can't bring himself to completely hate him.
this can be coupled with the potential fling thing for all shades of complex feelings lmao
I'm def interested to see how these two would interact, and I had the same thoughts about it being fairly easy to arrange a meeting since Samuel is the mafia secretary and all. If ever, would you like to set up the thread or will I? :0

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-post"]Oh, yeah, that would work out quite nicely. It's his sort of job, after all, and if the mafia didn't want that sort of heat coming back to him, he'd be the one to go to. So we can certainly add that to their history.
Of course, I'm down to thread! If you could start, that would be great :]

I think I should be able to make her plenty interesting for him, then >: D
Him accusing her of essentially being less than a true Houndoom would actually hit her pretty hard, I think. I'm sure she struggles with her self-image, having been her family's black sheep from childhood. If it interests you, maybe it could needle her enough that she straight-up turns around and goes "FIGHT ME" just to prove she's as much a hound as he is. I wouldn't mind getting to explore her more aggressive side, something I'm sure she doesn't like to think about herself.
Would you be alright with them meeting in Dedrock woods, or maybe in the back alleys of Colbagne if you'd rather it be inside city limits? I'm imagining Summer slipping out of the Guild for a late-night prowl, not hunting, just feeling restless and unable to sleep, and crossing paths with him.

Dealing with Ares is a sure-fire way to at the very least get annoyed, so I'm happy to provide his services if you want to let Summer loose a bit and get out any pent up frustrations.
Dedrock is perfectly fine with me, as I'm sure I can find a reasonable excuse for him to be roaming at night to make a meeting between these two happen.

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"]Klaus Gaiteuil [attr="class","info-post"]Now you've been up to quite a bit of fun, and I must say, reading your threads has been a delight, so if you don't mind, I think I'd love to hang around and see if we don't have some ideas we can write on, perhaps now, or perhaps later, depending on both your muse and what makes sense~
First and foremost though, of course, is our dear King himself. I imagine since Ares makes a habit of working on the opposite side of the law from him, he knows who Klaus is, perhaps even could recognize him at a glance. I'm not sure how well known of a criminal Ares is though, so it's quite possible Klaus won't have this same privilege, but I think these two running into each other could lead to some interesting interactions. After all, here is someone who Ares hates (I assume) quite strongly, and is working to undermine and undercut by whatever means possible. And I personally am a sucker for drama, and could use riling up some trouble for Klaus to struggle and stress over~
There is some pull the other way though, for it's hard to ignore the power gap between them, both physically, Klaus is older, more experienced, and has put quite a lot of effort into learning how to fight alongside other things, and likely has little to fear from Ares directly, and also in terms of presence and politics, one has some sway of intimidation in the underworld, the other has an entire Royal Guard, and if necessary, townspeople and guild members who would likely follow his orders gladly. Klaus is also, I imagine, a tantalizingly difficult target to play mind games with, he's weary and wary with a very authoritative and cold manner when it comes to such matters.
Yet Klaus is also just that. Stressed, worried, and weary. Ares is already doing such a lovely job of sowing discord and threatening, capturing, and luring away guild members and civilians, plenty of trouble for the (relatively) newer King. I'm sure Ares might be able to find a way to use his ability to hurt others around Klaus to good use~ or perhaps he tries to play his own cards a different way around Klaus, he's pretty intelligent and wary, but he's no psychic.
A bit of a ramble, but my point, is I think these two could have a great rivalry, and Ares could make a great antagonist towards Klaus, and perhaps even Klaus cause some headaches to our fierce hound as well, and there seem to be a number of ways to go about this if you have any ideas or my ramblings spark interest~ [attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-title"]Yasuo Kaburagi [attr="class","info-post"]Where to start with these two... they have a shared hatred of most people, and a strong vicious streak in them that tends to come out as aggression and sarcasm, but something tells me that while they might appreciate the other in some aspects, they are far more likely to find those very traits aggravating in each other~ Yasuo is just a bit of a hot-head, and despite his dark moods, he's pretty thoroughly a guild member, so an obvious path would be for these two to be rivals. Yasuo's a pretty good fighter, but the type advantage is most definitely not in my dear Grovyle's favor, so any fights will likely be in Ares' favor, but that might not stop Yasuo from trying to leave a few marks on your dear hound anyways if urged on enough, either in the pursuit of taking down a criminal, or simply out of pride depending how things go.
In fact, even if they don't know they are on opposite sides of the law, these two would likely fall to rivalry anyways, though there could be quite a range here of how serious it is. Yasuo is stubborn, and more than willing to track a criminal to the end of his days, but even as a stranger I imagine Yasuo and him might come to a show of strength of some kind, and Ares' type advantage, whether Yasuo has the sense not to fight him or not, could definitely leave Yas to becoming determined to overcome the difference and further settling his bitter mood.
Or perhaps you have a different idea entirely, I could see some odd scenarios between these two, but I would love to hear if you have any thoughts~

[attr="class","info-base"] [attr="class","info-post"]Hello, stalker~ But in all seriousness, I appreciate the kind words <3
Ah, his majesty. Yeah, he's in a position of power, thus Ares doesn't like him. He could be the nicest, most tolerant pokemon in the world, but because he wears the crown, he's scum in the hound's eyes. Still, as much as he'd love to personally dethrone Klaus, he's not stupid. Not only does he have the guard, the guild, and any and all townsfolk who are loyal to him, but he's pretty strong, stronger than he is at the moment, as reluctant as he'd be to admit it. So, at least for now, he'll settle with causing him trouble and relish in the thought that his actions might be getting under the King's skin.
In regards to his notoriety, his actions are certainly known, but his identity might be a little more obscure to the general population at the very least. It's easier to get jobs done without worrying about the guild being on his tail, after all. That doesn't mean Klaus couldn't have more intel and know a little more about him if he was so inclined to have someone investigate the issue.
I'd certainly love to have these two interact, but for now, I fear it'll have to be indirectly for a bit, unless we can come up with a situation where Ares would be in his presence and not looking to cause him any blatant trouble. Again, he's not stupid... But that doesn't mean he couldn't try to be slick and play some mind games, gauge how well his actions are disrupting the crown and if he should up the ante.
In regards to Yasuo, I have no problem with them being rivals. They probably could have gotten along decently, had it not been for his alliance to the guild, to be completely honest. Because of that though, the hound will take personal pleasure in roughing up the Grovyle when given the chance.
Fortunately for him, if nothing else, if we are going with them having history, I can safely assume that Ares would have let him live after a fight if only cause he'd suspect living with the failure and losing to an outlaw would be more irritating to him than dying to one, and he takes a lot of pleasure in knowing that he's left a lasting effect on someone. And of course, knowing Yasuo's drive, it sounds like he'd probably make it a personal mission to beat Ares, so I'm sure they can have a very healthy 'friendship' when they bump into each other and see just how much they can rough each other up before they part ways to lick their wounds and try again another day.
