Today was good to be out or so it seems. The sky was cloudless even though it was rather hot. Kaida has only been with guild a few days now and yet she seems to have settled in quite nicely. Since this was one of her off days, she decided helping out at the academy. Back when she was very young, she spent a few days here to interact with "commoners" or that what her parents called but she never understood it. Everyone was normal her eyes. So it an effort to replay them volunteering her time was the least she could.

However she didn't expect to be the reward especially with a huge sum of berries. Kaida wasn't doing this for a prize but after refused any times she finally gave in to there pleads. Now she had took the shade of tree with her precious satchel so overly stuff and heavy she couldn't carry it any longer. There was no way she could eat this all herself either.

 At first, it seemed as if Kaida would receive no answer at all. But then there was a soft rustling from behind the tree - the sound of branches parting and twigs breaking. The leaves of a nearby bush parted and out came a little red fox.
"Well, well!" Jupiter seemed unperturbed by being detected by the ghost. In fact, he even seemed excited! His tail waved in a lazy arc behind him to both display his affability and conveniently erase his tracks. "You must have very keen senses!" His voice brimmed with admiration for the dreepy as he hopped onto a tree root and settled like a lazy cat.
Despite Jupiter's amiable behavior, he'd put no small amount of distance between himself and the little dragon.
"You have an awful lot of berries in there!" His little nose twitched. "Will you really be able to eat them all? It would be terrible if you got a tummy ache!" Jupiter spoke as if he was entirely earnest. Maybe he was! Jupiter wasn't exactly the type to try and talk himself into a free meal. He was far more likely to just steal it.
"I know a good remedy for a sour belly, if you'd like it."
His gaze lingered on Kaida.
"Where did you get them all, anyway?" Jupiter seemed to rethink his wording. "Ah, is that too forward?"
Ah, there it was. Jupiter was the curious sort.
notes: curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back

danger never rests and neither will i No one will stop me from achieving my dreams Kaida never had a reason to doubt her gut feelings much less her instincts before so why should she start now. A warrior must be able to look for even the slightest kind of danger. That was she told was taught and the dreepy took it too heart. If anyone would dare come looking for a fight or want to steal her precious satchel that would know the fear this pokemon. As she waited the culprit to appeared a part really wanted to believe she wrong just so there a little peace and quet.
Then less until she heard rustling of leaves which meant she wasn't. About time! She growled at the culprit appeared a bush. A Nickit! Kaida sighed in mild annoyance. Most of them were known trouble-markers and problematic pests while not being quick to judge she wasn't about to her low her guard for a second. Her eyes remained trained on his every move if he would give her the slightest hint- the little guy would get a nice taste of her dragon tail.
"Took you long enough!"Kaida barked looms protectively over her satchel. "Of course, you have too if you want to be strong in this world or become part of the royal guard!" Or you could just runaway like a coward. Something she would always to be stubborn to do The ghost glanced around again, he seemed the be the only one here. Good. She didn't have to worry getting jumped not that she couldn't handle it. He didn't seem like a bad pokemon but looks can deceive.
"Thank you for the offer but no thanks, I don't plan on eating all the berries until I get belly ache, that would stupid."She replied look down at her hoard. All these tasty look berries would attached any pokemon hoping for a bite to eat. This Nickit lucky out or so it seemed.
"Now I said before if you want some berries than get your full but just the berries and try take anything else and you'll be sorry." Kaida was stern then huffed before moved back to allow then the fox pokemon some space to enjoy himself. "And answering your other question. Let's just say some pokemon can a little to generous than you would hope, okay!" |

 "Oh." Jupiter felt quite silly now. He hadn't realized it was so obvious! "But why would you ever want to be part of the royal guard?" His voice took on a note of shock and horror that this little dragon would ever want to be part of an organization of tyrants. "Don't you know that they... They, uh..."
Come to think of it, he couldn't remember hearing about the Royal Guard doing anything all that terrible. But he knew with a startling certainty that power would corrupt all those who held it.
"They're all just bullies." He settled on with a delicate scoff. "I don't know why any pokemon would want to be one of them!"
Jupiter went from outraged to crestfallen with such speed that you'd be forgiven for thinking he was never angry in the first place. "I don't think it's stupid." There was genuine hurt in his voice. He told himself that this dreepy probably just didn't understand what it was like to go days without anything to eat.
He was starting to think that she wasn't a very nice dreepy after all. Still, he was hungry and he wasn't about to turn down a free meal. With an excited yip, he fell upon the berries and began to gobble them down. He entirely planned on eating as many as he could before returning to his temporary den.

He just insulted the royal guard! How could he?! They help protect the land and kingdom just as they guild did. While she could understand not even in the position were a ray of sunshine or even friendly. The major still did their part to righting in the wrongs of land. Maybe he didn't like him because his outlaw?! Those word's simply didn't set well with her. "What did you just say?!" Did he have no matters or just had poor upbringing whatever the factor he didn't stop this dreepy growing temper.
"I'll have you know my family comes from a long-line of pokemon who served in the royal guard!" She said rather snappy looms over her bag once more. Kaida had quite even-temper for a dragon pokemon but by Arceus's breath it was getting to slip,"I am planned on following in their footsteps as well, thank you. Not every is a bully. Am I a bully for sharing my berries with you?"
Calm. Kaida. Calm. Her yellow orbs narrowed in aggravation but still she didn't strike him and continued to talk."I mean don't you have a home or somewhere to go. What about parents or siblings?" |

It was like she had stolen the breath from his lungs. Jupiter went so still and cold that he was sure that he would look down and find that his paws had turned to ice.
"Don't call me that." Jupiter's ears burned and the back of his neck was cold. "It's not all that I am."
She was just a spoiled little kid. Jupiter knew that and he still could not stop himself.
He pulled his head back from the berries so that he could look at her properly. "You are a bully." Jupiter thought of the villagers that steered their children away and whispered behind their hands and he ached. The resentment and revulsion was a physical thing. They were the sort of feelings that were too big for his little body and so they all came bursting out through his eyes and mouth.
"How wonderful for you." His voice dripped with sarcasm. "It must be so nice to have a family that you can be proud of. I wouldn't know what that's like." And perhaps because she had so thoroughly offended him, he deliberately chomped down another berry.
"I don't have a family." Jupiter's voice had a cold edge. "Or a home. It must be so nice to have a warm roof over your head and people who want you around! It must be so nice to not have to run from the guards because you wanted to eat!" And because he had started, he could not stop. "It must be so nice to not have people stare at you and call you a nickit like it's a bad thing!"
He fluttered his eyelashes and simpered at her. "I'm so thankful that you shared your berries with me. What would I have done without your kindness and generosity? A little nickit like myself surely isn't worthy."
This wasn't even about Kaida anymore. In her place stood all of the pokemon he'd met over the years - the villagers, Theresa, the dusknoir from before.
It had been so long since someone had wanted him around. It had been so long since someone hadn't treated him like he was somehow inferior for the way he lived or looked.

It perfectly executed dragon tail but regardless her fiery burned intensely. The dreepy's face now stood mere inches away from his. The tension was lingering but also in madness of her rage was some sympathy and even a little empathy to a degree."If you not a Nickkit then what pokemon are you. You never told your name either what else I am too address you by!"
A bully- such a low down creature she would never be one. To her hurt someone innocent would good against her morals and she stood for. "Fat Chance." Kaida back up a pace taking a few short breaths. "I wouldn't hurt even if you want me too, nor force to you anything you didn't want. Believe me, I have a few of my own."
A Bully. The word repeated on and on in her head. Maybe at times Kaida would seemed overbearing or aggressive but she would never let doing something so stupid."You only that half of it." Kaida spoke grimly,"I worked to be were am I now. My parents would have toss me aside if otherwise. No matter being a noble or not. I had to work to be in the guild- have such freedom I have now!"
Looking out down at the hole she left. She could feeling her inner turmoil finally being unleashed and it was cause by a stranger no less. "When your family want to be a puppet on string. It's surely at good life." Kaida spoke obviously sarcastic. "Those want you around for your strength and to be like them instead of being yourself. Surely, that am ideally life but you bear that burden alone because one day when you become head of the family and join the royal guard you will able to make thing right."
There a moment of paused as if searching for right words to say. "You can't always runaway from you problems. Sometimes you have to face them head on." How she describe her hidden anguish to him would be enough for him to understand. The face she put on for everyone to see and be happy. Her temper has calm for moment and she think clearly again.
Her words still just seemed to flow endless."Family as not lovely as you think it is as just being a noble. Being a nickit is never a bad thing either. You are who you are and no one can change you. I think you have more worthy than you really think. If I may you think so negative I do apologize I didn't meant for it to come too that."
The dreepy didn't looked in eyes for the first time in long time she couldn't. "I-I would like to know you name if it's okay? I'm Kaida and if you really need food. I don't mind sharing." |

Jupiter jumped. Was such a show of force necessary? He couldn't help but feel that this dragon was not nearly as nice as she liked to think she was. He drew away a little bit, eyes narrowed into golden slits.
Her face being against his only made him even more anxious. He did not like being near people. He did not like looking into people's eyes. It made his skin crawl and his paws itch and he wanted very, very badly to be away from this pokemon.
"You know that's not what I meant." She was making him feel stupid. Jupiter hated feeling stupid. "Don't act like you didn't mean it as an insult!"
Jupiter curled his tail up close and tugged at his ribbon with his paws. The feeling of soft cloth against his fur made him feel a little better - a little more in control of this situation. He caught a claw on the pink ribbon and tugged it up until it tickled the bottom of his nose.
"You threatened me earlier." He pointed out with a feeling of disbelief. "This whole time you've been acting like a big fat jerk and you expect me to believe you wouldn't hurt me if I gave you a chance? You do belong with the royal guard!"
He didn't feel bad for her. How could he? He barely knew this girl and she'd already shown herself to be everything he hated in a person. Her words only upset him further - because he did know what that was like.
"I do have worth. I don't need someone like you to tell me that because you feel bad for me." He hated pity. He hated spoiled pokemon that thought they understood what his life was like. He hated that she probably just saw him as a charity case - some poor little stray to clean up so that he'd start singing the praises of nobles and the guild like he was supposed to.
Jupiter stared at her in disbelief.
"I'm not giving you my name! First, you act like I'm awful for having an opinion and then you change your tune when you find out I'm homeless - I'm not even a person to you, am I? Just a way for you to feel good about yourself and your choices." He bristled. "I'm going now. Don't try to follow me and don't act like I need your help."

As much she hated how this turned out but there was no going back. The nickkit had been through same thing she would possible never understand. That wouldn't her from trying her stubbornness might even kill her one day. Even she had a different of opinion and outlooks. This- it was just so hurt to accept his in that since that against everything was taught and never known but still she was trying.
It just didn't seem enough. Never enough like her parents. Kaida had enough taking the blame being put on like she was a terrible pokemon and she wasn't! This sucks! It felt a better taste in her mouth. She hated people jumped to conclusions as much as lairs.
The dreepy was quickly to stand in his way but took defensive stance waiting for a beat down. More or less beat up. She was going to say her peace."You know want I hate the more the ignorant brats. Is when pokemon jumped to conclusions before they don't know all the facts." She surely didn't know how handle this pokemon. It just so touchy and wasn't something she was used too. Truly not to lash either at her problem was getting harder too again.
"You know nothing about me as I know nothing about you. We walked to different of path of life then are you say I don't believe nor probably will I but that don't meant I don't want to understand your side." The tension no matter seem lingering in air. He had in quite the pickle.
"I don't care what you are or how you are but I will not stand for degraded like some beast or madman. I'm not one no matter what you think. I don't pity you. I don't what I am feeling right now but not that!" What could she do to make him see that? So was this ending before it even began? "If you truly think I am selfish terrible pitting noble royal guard lover who bias in every way this. Then go but-" She wouldn't wish the last words. The real words she surely wanted to say.
