[attr="class","info-post"]Please make sure you read up about Nou Rega here! (clicK)
Welcome to our first event as well as a little glimpse into the lore surrounding Niphios!
While Colbagne and it's architecture may be European influenced, Niphios originated from a melting pot of East Asian cultures. With the forced exchange of power that thrust Niphios into the Crovalon Dynasty, more European influence began to mix with their already long-standing traditions.
Nou Rega originated in their tribal days, one of the few periods of time when all the tribes would call a truce and gather to pay tribute to their fallen. Originally under a different name, it was once nothing more than a feast, a time of prayer, and the paper lanterns meant to guide the deceased home. As time went on, it changed into a full festival that lasted far longer than a day. As the culture of Niphios changed, so did the festival's name.
This festival is one of the few times where the citizens of Colbagne show off their mixed heritage. Many dust off gowns that the humans may recognize as hanboks, hanfus, or kimonos. Others prefer to wear the more recent trends or remain in their normal attire (if any at all).
Only with the Cycle of Life Ball is it required to wear something, be it a full suit, a gown, or keep it simple with a bow tie and hat. Please bathe before you arrive!
You may create festival threads beginning on April 12th (Sunday, when Nou Rega officially starts) and, while Niphios will only see a week slowly pass by, all new threads for the event will no longer be allowed after May 2nd. There is no time limit on when existing threads must finish, to take your time and enjoy the festivities!
Please mark all Nou Rega threads with [event] and put them in Festival Plaza or the Cemetery!
The Cycle of Life Ball will begin April 15th within a special sub-board made specifically for the event. New threads will no longer be accepted after May 2nd, and we do ask that you try to finish up threads by May 27th so the board can be moved into the Archives.
