Being the eldest brother is a very important job, or at least it is important when you are Theren Caskshell. Born the first of six, he's intimate with the stress of being the Big Brother but swears up and down that it was good for him. Family's important to Theren, and he's just about ready to prove it to anyone by being the loudest person in the room when it is brought up. Though, in all fairness, Theren is frequently the loudest 'mon in the room regardless of the topic. He's just the kinda guy that's all up in everyone's business with enthusiasm and a lack of volume control that makes him the last chosen for situations that require a more... delicate touch.[break][break]
So maybe Theren's a bit simple! He's the kinda guy that approaches things headfirst (literally) and he's not really ashamed of that! Sometimes social nuance goes over his head but there's a bit of a charming side to him that seems to make up for it at the very least. Friends were not hard to come by in Theren's childhood. He was the kind of guy you appreciated on your side and always had a streak for calling out bullies. That, of course, lead to its own problems but that's fine! Just gotta duke it out, or something to that effect.

Theren's parents are both successful in their trades, his father running a bar and his mother striving for making their place a hospitable stop for any Pokemon wanting to stop in. The result? A modern-day tavern of course! Whether food or drink or friendship or just a place to rest your little head, the Caskshell's Stop is known for being a great place to stop in. Or well, Theren will boast that. The fame of their little business is questionable, but what isn't questionable is the general fluffy good feelings the family grew up with.

Theren has always admired the Guild and Royal Guard in equal measure, flip-flopping between his goals for the future. His parents, of course, would much rather he settle down and take on something similar to the family business. Not that they aren't supportive. Just... concerned. Theren's a bit reckless after all, he's gotten himself in more than his fair share of pickles here and there.
