The first thing you need to know about Richie is that he is handicap. Tragedy struck young and left him with a useless limb when a wild Ekans ensnared Richie playing by the pond, out of his Dad's watchful eye. Poor Richie, his Dad said and gave his head a pat. But how did this happen to such a good boy? As it turns out the good boy was not so good after all...Richie was a two-faced crook. Richie used that busted stump of his and big tears came to his eyes right on cue. And he stole from those villagers. When his Dad caught him, he whipped Richie with his tail. The burns left red razor scars on his ears and he wore them with pride.
A childhood of delinquency was written in the stars for Rich. Colbagne's underground didn't want him at first. They said they wouldn't take a cripple like him, but boy did Richie prove them wrong. He stole better than no thief ever did swindling those pockets left and right.
The Mafia is Richie's home now...or the closest thing to it. They said as long as he would keep stealing, they would let Richie live.
