[attr="class","info-title"]PART I (HUMAN)
[attr="class","info-post"]2027 - You eagerly insert a small disc into the reader on your computer, and you drum your fingers against the desk as you wait for your computer to prompt the installation. You were one of the thousand people in the world to get into the beta test of an open world massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, one that would send you straight into a strange world filled with mysterious creatures unlike anything ever seen before. You tried browsing the web long before the launch date for any leaked information, only to come up with nothing that the company hadn't already release.
Said company had sprung up out of nowhere, talking a big game with little to show for it. Despite reservations, you applied for beta anyway. The small disc had arrived that day, despite never filling in your location. You had been expecting an email, something to download, not a physical copy of an unreleased game.
You frown as your monitor goes dark. There was no prompt for installation. There was no splash screen. Only darkness.
You try turning the monitor on, but it remains unresponsive. Your computer's fan kicks on, whirring with increasing volumes. You reach over to forcibly turn the computer off before it could overheat, but your finger never reaches the power button. You stop as the monitor turns on by itself and displays a command prompt.
When the going gets tough, do you get going?
Your mind goes blank as the words display on the screen. The cursor blinks, awaiting a response.
No, you tentatively type. The computer responds with another question.
There is a scream from behind a door! How will you react?
This time, a few choices are provided to choose from. You choose one, and the strange quiz continues.
Are there many things that you would like to do?
Another yes or no question. You answer, and the terminal slowly types out an ellipses, as if it was processing the information.
Your name appears on the screen.
You are about to embark on a journey unlike any other. Enjoy yourself and make friends, but be wary of your surroundings. There is a darkness in the world that threatens the very existence of your world and mine. Your actions have consequences, but don't think twice. Take the leap, and we will follow.
You stare at your screen, trying to understand the words on the screen. Ten seconds pass before the monitor turns off once more, only to immediately turn back on. A bright white light greets you, engulfing your vision. You feel as if you're being pulled in, then there is the sensation of falling.
"Oh, dear! There's another one!"
