Weeding through the hustle and bustle of the marketplace was a very daunting task for Lief. He awkwardly stood at one of the many streets leading to the Market, clutching his measly pawfull of poke to his fuzzy chest and contemplating where to go first. All he wanted was to buy some food; food was important. But... What the heck was he supposed to do?
His long tail was drawn close to his back as if Lief feared it getting stepped on, the leaf occasionally resting atop his head. He was clueless to how he must have looked right now; frozen in place with a leaf on his head. Many Pokemon passed by him, and he couldn't help but double take at each of them. They all went along their day as if it was the most normal thing in the world to be walking by other Pokemon, and Lief envied them. Even after earning this money via a small errand at a distant farm, he was still unused to so many strange Pokemon walking around him.
After a few more moments of being frozen, Lief forced himself to take a deep breath and venture forward down the street, curling his tail against his back. Just find the first food stall and buy a snack... That's all he needed to do.

The sun shone down on the streets, upon the figure of a brown rabbit slowly making her way through the roads at random. There was a lot to adjust to, becoming a being known as a Pokémon, being thrown into a foreign world. While it wasn’t like her it wasn’t a surprise that some part of her felt hopeless, the inability to see her family and her friends did affect her somewhat. That’s the reason to why she had chosen to give herself some time to think, to go outside and merely take a walk and clear out her head.
It turned out to be the medicine that she very much needed; her random venture led her to the streets of the marketplace as evident from the number of stalls and the shops that littered the area. It was bustling full of beings, residents that bore appearance that was vastly unique from one and another. While at the guild she did catch a glimpse of a large amount of unique Pokémon, but not at this scale. Being someone, whom wasn’t accustomed to how people appeared to be along with being a chatty social butterfly, there was only one thing that the woman could do.
The rabbit couldn’t contain herself as she bounced to and fro, skirting from one person and immediately jumping to the next. Eyes sparkling as she spoke from one person to the next asking questions about their appearance, naturally getting looks of confusion or simply annoyance. “Woah, you’re a floating sun. How do you pick up stuff without hands? ” She said to a Solrock, before bouncing to a Shuppet. “Is that a Halloween costume? Do you guys even celebrate Halloween?” Right after pouncing to a nearby shop with eyes aglitter, “I didn’t even know they sold clothes here, why do a lot of people walk out in the nude then?”
Then her little venture took her to the front of an orange mouse-like creature, her small beady eyes staring at the person directly and scanning them up and down. “And your tail-” She remarked, before without hesitation forcing her way through the barriers of personal space and touching the appendage directly, “It has a leaf on the end, does that –like make you part tree or something?” A blunt and most likely rude question, but in her mind there was no ill-intentions meant. Just pure ignorance and curiosity as the pink-fleeced Buneary would stay still awaiting an answer.

Most of the chatter that surrounded Lief weren't directed toward him, so he found it somewhat easy to block it all out. It was mot obtrusive to deal with 'mons waltzing all around him, rather than the noise they made. The open sky helped a lot to minimize the amount of noise. But a few questions eliciting from the crowd had made his ears twitch. Did some'mon just call a Solrock a sun? Lief honestly had the same thoughts upon first seeing these variety of Pokemon, but he hadn't been bold enough to voice them. So above all of the noise the marketplace had to offer, Lief was surprised to hear something directed toward him, and even more surprised by the bluntness of it.
Lief turned his head to look down at the smaller bunny 'mon, perplexed as he merely stood there for a long moment, unsure of what to say at first. It wasn't too odd to hear a 'mon comment on his tail, it wasn't the most normal thing for a Raichu, but it also certainly wasn't the most bizarre. Though he had to admit; Lief had never heard him being called a tree before.
Thanks to the tree-like design on his back, it wasn't actually an incorrect guess.
"...No..." Lief said quite slowly, turning to properly address the bunny. His expression was fairly neutral; not very friendly-looking but certainly containing no detectable anger or annoyance. "It's just a leaf, I took after my father." The Raichu explained, letting the end of his long tail hover between the two for a good look. "...Are you new to towns?" Maybe this bunny had lived separate from other Pokemon, as he had? It gave him some hope to think he wouldn't be the only one who was overwhelmed by all this.

The fluffy head of the leporidae lass swivelled to the movement of the stranger’s tail, the girl’s inquisitiveness was apparent by just a lone look in her eyes that kept its glance on the tail even after the question was answered. “So you’re not a tree, but you’re dad’s a tree? That’s pretty interesting too.” She immediately assumed and replied in a swift moment of intellectual brilliance by putting two and two together.
Taking her eyes off the tail now, directing her head up to look at the Raichu’s figure that was towering over her due to being around twice her height. “The only thing I inherited from my dad was my ginger hai-.” But then her words came to a halt, awkward pause before remembering to herself that she wasn’t herself. The rabbit took a moment to lift her paw in front of her face, glancing at it and then rectify her sentence by adding on the words, “-brown fur.”
And then the question was asked, the Buneary being taken back the moment when she was caught with visible surprise with her mouth slightly agape. ‘How did they know?’ Azzy queried, looking completely oblivious to the reasons why she looked like someone whom was a foreigner. Could it be the way that she looked? Or was it the fact that she questioned the fact that people were stark naked earlier. Yes, it was most certainly that, there could be no other reason for suspecting her as fresh meat.
“I guess you could say that, it is certainly my first time being in any place like this with a lot of p-p-people.” She said, forgetting the term that everyone called themselves. “But it’s not much of a problem; I’m used to being around strangers all the time when working with others for performances. A stranger is only one step away from a friend, right?” She let a paw stretch out towards the orange mouse, optimistic that an exchange of hands will occur, with her little mouth curling into a smile.
“Azalea’s my name by the by.”

Lief faltered a bit, unsure of what to make of his father being called a genuine tree. He supposed a Simisage was kind've like a tree? Well, he was more covered in leaves than an actual- What in the world was he thinking about? One of his ears dipped, he didn't know whether to correct her or not, and ultimately just decided to let it go. It didn't really matter, anyways... Besides, she didn't seem to mean any harm.
It was almost kinda funny.
But then she continued her oddness by nearly declaring herself as ginger, before correcting the misstep and referring to her brown fur. Did she have to check the color of her fur? Something was a bit off with this bunny... The Raichu lowered his body to let his front paws rest on the ground, sniffing at the buneary. Much like Azalea, he didn't seem to mind breaking personal space to check for any unusual or dangerous scent. She smelled of other 'mons, nothing unusual for the town... She certainly didn't smell sick. "Alright..." His tone sounded unsure, as if doubting her claim to her father's heritage.
Lief's tail rested on the ground, wrapping in a loose, incomplete circle around them. Once again, she made him pause with her unfamiliar ways. People was not a term he was familiar with, is that something that townsfolk said? Or perhaps it was a mere remnant of her old life... "I know what that's like." Lief admitted, attempting to offer a tiny bit of condolence and comfort. She wasn't alone in being a new arrival here; and now, neither was he. Yet, Azalea didn't seem mournful or full of doubts, like he was. Instead, she responded with positivity.
A stranger is only one step away from a friend, right?
That... This outlook was so vastly different than what Lief had grown up on. Strangers were a source of danger for him in the past; but instead, she declared a stranger as a potential friend. Despite himself, it made him smile, finally breaking his impassive expression. This bunny seemed as at odds with this town as he was, yet she wasn't letting it get to her.
"I'm Lief." The Raichu extended a paw to gently grasp hers, shaking it. "How long have- Er, have you only just arrived in this town? I've only just arrived. Never been in any town, before." Lief re-framed from commenting on whether he actually liked this town or not. After retracting his paw to let it rest on the ground once again, he thought back to her earlier words, "Did you mention working for performances? What do you mean by that?" His tone was pleasant and light, gently curious and seemingly eager to carry out a conversation.

A light handshake ensued, the bunny’s face beaming in response to the polite exchange between the two. But that short-found moment of happy emotions cyclone into a moment of personal found confusion after hearing the name of her newfound acquaintance. His name is Leaf? The rabbit thought in her head as she also thought back to the instance where she discovered that this fellow’s father was a tree, a tree with a named Leaf.
Muffled by the quick movement of her spare paw, the girl let out a little snicker in response to the name. “Sorry, Sorry. I couldn’t help it. You know, tree. Leaf.” Azalea explained with a long smile still plastered to her face.
Still reeling from the name, Azzy attempted to reply back to his words. “I’ve only came here like a couple of days ago. So –like everything around here is completely new to me. –Apart from the Guild at least.” She recalled back to the instance where she spent yesterday taking note of every section of the guild, while she may not be the brightest out there Azalea was a person that did like to be organized when it came to things that largely affect her life.
“Weeeeell.” The bunny hopped back to leave a little space between the two of them before standing on one foot and spinning herself around in a pirouette, after a second before stopping in a croisé devant pose. There were issues as she still had trouble doing these motions in her current form, but her experience allowed it to at least seem normal to an amateur. “I’m a dancer, uhm- was one. I used to perform with others to big crowds.” It was hard to say that she was still one considering the state she was in, which also made her think; did they even have dancers in this strange world?
Azalea took a moment to return back to something Lief mentioned earlier, stepping back in closer to the Raichu and leaned in to say. “Buuuuut, I didn’t think that you also weren’t from around here.” Actually, she didn’t even think to herself that there might’ve been other civilization outside this city. It made sense as she thought about it, which naturally brought her to ask, “Where are you from? What is it like?” And the most important question, “Why did you come out here?”

Lief certainly didn't expect the bunny's reaction to his name. He gave her a questioning expression, head tilting to the side before letting out a begrudging chuckle as she explained herself. After claiming that he wasn't a tree, he supposed it was a little funny to immediately hear that he was named after a leaf. The mouse would allow for the humor, playing along a little bit. "At least my parents didn't name me Branch."
Realizing just how new she was to this town made his ears perk. "I've only just arrived a few days ago, as well..." Granted, he had a bit more experience with other towns, but it was very brief experience. But his tail twitched and eyes widened a fraction when Azalea explained that she was part of the Guild. "Really?" Lief wasn't all too familiar with the Guild, or even what it did, yet he'd always been intrigued whenever hearing of it... Perhaps he'd ask her some questions about it later.
Instead, he was more distracted with the bunny's flourish, vastly more intrigued in her "career" of dancing rather than the guild. "Oh wow... You used to? Can you not perform still? I have never seen dancing, before..."
Then she began asking questions, questions that were perfectly normal and natural to ask, but happened to contain loaded answers for Lief. He frowned, leaning off of his front paws to stand fully upright as an unconscious act of avoidance, unsure of how to answer at first. "It... was just a cabin, in the mountain." Lief finally answered, clearing his throat once before offering a small smile as his gaze turned back down to Azalea, "It was truly nothing special."
