OOC: Most of my RP experience is with single-thread stuff, so please forgive a little bit of bumbling as I figure all this stuff out!
In short, Humboldt considers themself as apart from other people. Not necessarily in an egotistical way (well, okay, a little bit); they just think of making friends and creating genuine emotional connections and whatnot as hobbies that they're personally not into. They try their best to be sympathetic, but when it comes down to it they just don't understand people who let relationship drama spill into their daily lives! Is it really that important?
Their intimidating nature and packed schedule have let them opt out of most friendship opportunities so far, but that's not really how the world works in the long run, is it? It'll be fun to see them pushed out of their comfort zone.

- They take interest in people, most of the time because they're fun to watch (or provoke). This tends to look like friendship to the untrained eye, but they rarely get emotionally invested. They're not really used to other people getting emotionally invested in them, either... it'd probably rather fluster them.
- As a big imposing dark-type with no shortage of harsh words, they have a bit of a scary reputation among the apprentices. Sometimes they pick out the jitteriest of the bunch and have a nice civil conversation with them, just to see how they react.
- Much of their time and energy the past few years has been dedicated to pestering Lavender Delacroix out of working himself to death. We should probably discuss the specifics!
